Plastic pollution is a huge threat to our planet. Every year, approximately 8 million tons of plastic end up in the world’s oceans, with plastic bottle caps ranking among the top 10 most common items found on beaches. Contributing to the solution of this problem, we are pleased to announce that we are transitioning to tethered caps!
This significant change, initiated by the European Union’s Single-Use Plastics Directive, will affect all of our soft drink brands, including RASA and SELITA KLASIKA, and we are committed to implementing it starting from July 2024.
What does this mean for consumers?
The bottles will continue to open in the same way as before. The only difference is that once the bottle is opened, the cap will remain attached to it via a safety ring. This design will help reduce plastic waste and encourage proper packaging sorting and recycling.
Why is this important?
The transition to tethered caps aims to create a circular economy for packaging. This means that each bottle and cap will be collected, recycled, and reused to make new products. In this way, we will reduce the carbon footprint of packaging and ensure a cleaner environment.
Responsibility is a core value of our company
As a large company, we feel responsible for reducing environmental pollution, which is why we strive to continuously seek sustainable production solutions in our operations. In addition to transitioning to tethered caps, we have long been using clean solar energy and recycled PET materials. This European Union directive motivates us to further improve our production processes and adopt even more sustainable solutions. We believe that this change will benefit the environment and be supported by our customers.
